Foot, heel, arch pain treatment Winnipeg

Are you suffering from foot, heel, or arch pain? Does it hurt when you walk or run, or do your feet simply hurt when you wake up first thing in the morning?  Foot pain Winnipeg is one of the most common conditions we treat here at Arora Family Chiropractic.  Having foot pain can be debilitating.  It can prevent you from doing the things you love such as running, playing sports, and even shopping at the mall!  When we assess the foot, we look at a number of things.  First and foremost, what is your gait or walking pattern like?  Is your foot overpronating? In other words, is your foot turning inwards more than it should?  When that happens, extra pressure builds on the feel and arch in particular, and this extra pressure leads to pain.  Many people have flat feet or low arches and in many cases, that is the major contributor to overpronation.

How do we diagnose flat feet and overpronation?

Simple.  We can just look at your feet and tell you right away.  For a deeper insight into your walking pattern though, we do a computerized gait analysis.  This involves walking on a platform that will provide feedback to the computer as to where your pressure points on your feet are. And once we see what the gait pattern is like, we treat it accordingly.

Treatment for flat feet, heel, arch pain Winnipeg – Shockwave Therapy and Custom Orthotics

There are two main treatments we use for flat feet, heel and arch pain, Winnipeg.  First, we use a treatment called Shockwave Therapy. Shockwave Therapy is used to break down scar tissue, improve blood circulation, and help tissue heal.  We get fantastic results with Shockwave Therapy for plantar fascitis, heel pain, and arch pain of the foot.  In fact, 80-90% of our patients will get relief.  Typically 4-5 sessions is enough.

Secondly, if the computerized gait scan warrants it, we provide Custom Orthotics.  Custom Orthotics are a gold standard for treating plantar fasciitis as the appropriate support alleviates pressure under the feet, which can get rid of your pain.  The best part of Custom Orthotics Winnipeg, is that it can also help with pain in your knees, hips, and low back. When we place the order, the lab takes 7 days and they then ship your custom orthotics to the clinic, where we provide them for you.  Custom Orthotics are covered by most insurance plans (we can usually bill direct for you).  And if you need a prescription, we can coordinate that for you as well.
