Sitting at a desk all day, sitting in front of a computer, leaning over in your chair…
These are some of the more common things we do daily that can impact our posture.
Not only can poor posture weaken our spine and muscles, but it can lead to pain and discomfort.
Simple tips to alleviate this…
– Sit upright in your chair – simple, but very easy to forget.
-Keep your computer screen at eye level (or close to it). You can raise your working station, or lower your chair if you need.
-Take breaks. Sitting in front of a computer hours at a time is not healthy for your body or for your brain!
-Extend your head back and stretch those neck muscles. When you keep your neck in extension, your spinal joints automatically relax and it will feel good.
And above all, just be aware. We get so pre-occupied with our day to day tasks, that we often take our posture for granted.
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
