With the growing concern of the COVID-19 virus, I want to provide you with an update as to how we are handling it,

And what you can do to help protect yourself and everyone around you.

First and foremost, if you are currently experiencing cough, cold, runny nose, fever, or weakness,

And have done any international (or domestic) travel in the past 14 days,

Or have been in contact with anyone who has been travelling in the past 14 days,

Please contact Manitoba Public Health at 1-888-315-9257 immediately.

Access Clinics and Mount Carmel are starting to test for the Coronavirus as of today/tomorrow.

However… keep in mind, it is recommended that you ONLY go for testing if you are symptomatic.

If you are not sure what to do, please call the above phone number.

Secondly, it goes without saying, if you fall within one of the above categories, and have an appointment with us,

Please contact us to reschedule or cancel your appointment to help ensure the safety of our other patients and our staff.

Further, please make sure you are washing hands regularly.

Hand sanitizers also work, but washing hands with soap and water is more effective.

Make sure you are sneezing into your arm,

And make sure you are limiting your contact with others if necessary.

Here at our clinic,

We are also doing the following…

We are being more diligent than usual with cleaning our equipment and tables between patients,

We also have hand sanitizers in all of our rooms for patients.

And as you know, we are screening patients at this time,

And will ask those who could possibly be infected to cancel or reschedule their appointments in our clinic.

Luckily, we have had no reason to suspect anyone yet.

And thus, we will continue to operate as normal.

This is a confusing and anxious time for many,

Therefore, I am providing you some resources and information on COVID-19 as well:

Here is an infographic fact sheet from the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC):

These are some FAQ’s about COVID-19:

And finally, here are some Coronavirus myths – from the World Health Organization (WHO):

If you have any questions or concerns about anything at all,

Please do not hesitate to contact myself or any staff member.

If we work together, hopefully we can slow the spread of the virus.
